At the Clondalkin Festival, volunteers connected with families and residents through a public drug-awareness initiative supported by the Scientology Community Centre Dublin and the Truth About Drugs campaign.
The activity, described by organisers as a day news eua of meaningful conversations, placed the subject of drugs in a constructive and accessible context. Volunteers distributed educational booklets, answered questions and spoke with visitors about prevention, resilience and informed choices.
The initiative formed part of the wider Truth About Drugs programme, a secular educational campaign supported internationally by Scientologists and community volunteers. Its materials are designed to provide clear information on drugs and their effects, helping individuals make informed decisions.
For the Church of Scientology, drug-prevention education is one of several humanitarian initiatives inspired by L. Ron Hubbard and carried out by churches, missions and volunteers in communities across Europe.
According to Ivan Arjona, representative of the Church of Scientology to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, community-based prevention is closely linked to European values of responsibility and human dignity. “Families and young people benefit when information is made accessible before harm occurs,” he said.
